Foods That Bind - Critical Conversations Between People of Black Heritage
The African Collaborative Network (ACN) is excited to introduce 'Foods That Bind - Critical Conversations', a series aimed at nurturing authentic friendships and unity among diverse black communities through conversations over food. The series will commence on July 8th, 2023.
The series will consist of cohorts that meet on the final Saturday of each month, engaging in 5 sessions of 3 hours each. Conversations will occur over a 3-course meal showcasing our diverse yet common heritage, including African American, African, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Latino cuisines. Activities will feature visits to cultural or historical sites, attending significant cultural events, or participating in planned trips to other represented countries.
These cohorts will unite leaders and community members of diverse African origins to learn, build relationships, and share experiences with their communities. The first cohort will kick off on July 8th, meeting on the last Saturday of each month for 5 sessions. Applications are open until June 18th. Please share the signup form with any interested parties.
Confirmations for the upcoming cohort will be sent by June 20th, with acceptance confirmations expected by June 25th.
