ACN Welcomes Esperance Abedi as Interim Director


The African Collaborative Network (ACN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Esperance Abedi as Interim Director.



Esperance is a nonprofit founder, business owner, and community leader deeply committed to empowering African communities and refugees through education, entrepreneurship, and expanded economic opportunity. She is the founder of Sunga, an organization that supports African children facing financial barriers to education through scholarships, mentorship, and long-term empowerment programs.


Esperance graduated with honors from Western Michigan University, where her academic focus centered on economic development and community advancement. Her honors thesis examined the impact of the oil industry on the Texas economy, reflecting a strong foundation in data-informed strategy, systems thinking, and community-centered solutions. She is also a recognized leader in multicultural spaces, having served as President of the Congolese Student Association and as Vice President of the International Student Council, advancing inclusion, representation, and collaboration across diverse communities.


As Interim Director, Esperance will lead ACN’s day-to-day operations, strengthen systems, and deepen partner engagement in support of ACN’s mission across advocacy, education, economic empowerment, and unity.
